Free Printable Activities
There are a TON of awesome free printables at childcareland.com. I wanted to share this link for those of you that haven't visited it yet, but I also wanted to share a few that we have tried because there are SO many to look through that it can be overwhelming!
Bear Shape Matching - I printed out just the single shape bears and did this when B was younger (I want to say around 12 months we started trying it out).
Paintbrush Shape and Color Matching - We moved onto this one after the bears.
Ice Cream Missing Shape Recall (pictured) - I just did this with B the other day.
How to Play:
Put all 6 ice cream cone shapes out and name each one with your child.
Have your child cover their eyes and remove one of the ice cream cones.
Ask what shape has been removed.
6 shapes were way too many to start with for B (2.5 years old). He could tell me the spot it was missing from but couldn't remember the shape. 2-3 cones at a time worked really well and he really enjoyed it. He thought it was fun to close his eyes and then solve the "mystery". =)
Ooh - I love childcareland.com - I have printed so many things from the free printables section. Lots of good things! I love this activity - definitely will have to check it out! :)
