Ice Cube Transfer

First, fill ice cube trays with water and food coloring. I used a couple of Christmas shaped trays from the dollar store and made blue snowmen and green Christmas tree ice cubes. Give each child 2 bowls. Fill one with water and dump the ice cubes in. Leave the other bowl empty. Challenge your child to transfer all of the ice cubes from one bowl to the other with different utensils like tongs, spoons, slotted spoons, etc.

B had his friend had so much fun transferring all of the cubes and then dumping them back in over and over again. After the special ice melted, I gave them regular ice and discovered that plain white ice was just as much fun!
