Impromptu Car Game

Sometimes B gets really antsy in the car which makes the ride not so fun for anyone and sometimes I'm racing home, trying to keep him awake, so he doesn't fall asleep in the car (which erases any chance of a nap).

Then, B made up this really fun game which I'm assuming is inspired by Dora or Diego.

This is how we play:
One of us says "If you see a __________, yell _______". (If you see a flag, yell flag.)

I guess it's a younger version of I-Spy. It has turned out to be a great distraction for B and keeps him alert. It also is a great game to enhance vocabulary. He's learned the difference between the American and Texas flags and has learned to read various store signs. I guess it's time for me to learn the different types of trucks instead of saying "If you see a big truck, yell big truck". =)

  1. Hi there Activity Mom!
I have been looking at your blog for about a month now and have been so inspired by you! In fact, I'm sure that we may be long lost best friends, as even before I read about your advent activity calendar idea, I started a similar christmas countdown. (great minds think alike, eh?)ha ha.
I have recently started a blog where I am posting about it, and about other things that I'm doing with my little pre-schooler. Feel free to stop by if you want! Here is the address:
