Math Water Bag

This activity combines math and listening skills. I drew a line down the middle of a ziplock bag and filled the bag with water and 5 beads. I would say "Can you put 1 bead on this side and 4 beads on the other side?"

This activity introduces and enforces the different combinations of 5. It would also be a great activity to practice with "left" and "right" and/or to put in 10 beads and work with combinations of 10.

  5. I love this idea, and I think my son would too! Thanks! (I notice you don't have the top of the ziploc taped, although your bag isn't as full as ours was in our recent homemade magnifying class experiment... ours met with a very wet end! http://infantbibliophile.blogspot.com/2010/09/science-sunday.html). :)
