Baby's FIrst Sensory Tub

activities for babies

I gathered large buttons, extra large pom poms and a mold (for sorting) and let N experiment with and enjoy her first sensory tub. At first she was only interested in finding all of the buttons and putting them in the mold. Then, she had a great time scooping and pouring the pom poms with a cup.  I should also mention she threw a ton of the pom poms across the room and put everything in her mouth.

The best thing about this sensory tub is that it can grow with her. With these materials and a few others (tongs and different sized pom poms), she will be able to experiment with matching, sorting and fine motor skills (with colors, sizes, shapes, and textures).

  3. It's so funny that you posted this. I had out a big shoe box full of giant pom poms this weekend, working on a project for my home, and my boys LOVED playing with them. I need to pull them out more often.
