Bored? Make a human sized game board and play a game! We made our game board out of pillows. We used 10 pillows and rolled the die to move the corresponding number of spaces.
When you get to the end, you win!
Even N (18 months) had fun walking from pillow to pillow.
You can also use felt pieces, stuffed animals, blocks to stand next to, etc.
Tip: When you get close to the end ask your child, "How many do you need to win?" or "What do you need to roll to win?".
This looks like fun! We will be trying it.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I can imagine a little boy hopping from pillow to pillow super hero- style :-)
ReplyDeleteI think my son will love this! Keep your ideas coming! We love them.
ReplyDeleteCute idea for little ones!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! We used to do something similar when my son was tiny, pretending the pillows were rocks in the water and you couldn't fall off because of the crocodiles. Added extra excitement. :)
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. Could even make them roll two and add them before moving...
ReplyDeleteOh fun! For my older kids who are learning languages, they can count in that language as they hop from pillow to pillow. Peanut- age 7 is taking Spanish and Sunshine- age 9 is taking French. Little Man- he can learn his English numbers! lol Thank for the idea. Oh, another fun variation- leap frog from pillow to pillow or use homemade lily pads. :)
ReplyDeleteoh gosh. my kids do that everyday on their own :-)
ReplyDeleteI love this idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
How fun and easy is that?! Love it!
