Homemade Scented Playdough

There are so many homemade playdough recipes out there and believe it or not I've never tried one. I just couldn't resist when I saw the Koolaid Playdough recipe at The Toy Box Years. She made it look so easy and it was! I love the texture of it and the fruity smell (from the koolaid).

All you need for this recipe is:

1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
2 Tbs. cream of tartar
1 packet unsweetened Kool-Aid
1 Tbs. oil
1 cup water

Head over to Toy Box Years to see her step by step tutorial on how to make it!

  4. Have you tried using unsweetened Koolaid packets to make finger paints? I tried a recipe and it didn't work at all, but I can't figure out if it is because I used the offbrand or because it was just a bad recipe.

Did you have any trouble with the kids wanting to eat the playdough?

  5. Melea, I haven't tried a finger paint recipe. Anyone else tried one?
N tried to put the playdough in her mouth a couple of times. After a few reminders and probably an actual taste =) she stopped.

  6. Hi,

A lovely idea to make playdough scented but as my kids can't get enough of the taste of playdough as it is...the smell might just be too tempting!

  7. I've read about using Koolaid to scent play dough, but have never tried it. We have added cinnamon and vanilla to ours, and it turned out well, but I love how many different scents are possible using Koolaid. I think we may just have to do this! Thanks for the inspiration! :)
