Organized Chaos

There is a lot of talk right now out there in blogger world about organization (must be back to school time) and I wanted to show you the one inexpensive organizational tool that is working for us right now (the rest of the stuff I just keep organizing and reorganizing).

My hubby bought a big heavy duty cardboard cylindar from Home Depot that is used to form cement posts. Then he cut it into 1 foot deep sections. I spray painted the outside and he attached them together and to the wall using L brackets.

It has worked out great for getting random toys off the floor. However, I think I need a whole wall of them because if you look right next to the circle storage you'll see the beginning of a whole row of ikea containers full of stuff on the floor.

  1. I am extremely late on this but I am just discovering how awesome your blog is :) Here is my link http://oursweetpeasinapod.blogspot.com/2009/07/organizing-all-little-toys-that-become.html

BTW that is a great idea. My husband would probably have some fun designing that!

  2. Great idea! We have a couple cone shaped cubbies from IKEA mounted on the wall but I haven't seen them there in a long time. Your storage idea would work in my son's Star Wars themed room!

  5. I LOVE this idea! I know exactly where I'm going to use it... I have been searching and searching for the perfect organizer for a wasted corner in my boys' room but it can't be too wide because there is a bed, a vent, and a door close by. Setting these up in the corner will be awesome! Especially because I can fan them out into a cool design perhaps making room for whatever is in the way. Alright... where's my measuring tape = )
