I found this action rhyme in my drawer that I kept from the library story time that I went to with B when he was younger. I remember I'd start chanting it in the car to distract him when he got fussy towards the end of a trip. He loved this rhyme and probably still will when I show it to him again later. My hope/dream is that he remembers some of these songs and rhymes and does them with Baby N when she is a bit older. (Does that happen?)
Tommy Thumbs Up
(both of your thumbs in the air)
Tommy Thumbs up, Tommy Thumbs down,
Tommy Thumbs dancing all around.
Dance them on your shoulders,
Dance them on your head.
Dance them on your knees and
Tuck them into bed. (make a fist)
i think so! my guys still remember their baby signs and we stopped doing them at least three years ago! we also did this rhyme and we made up names for the other fingers too--peter pointer, melvin middle, ricky ring--things like that!
ReplyDeleteThat's cute! I have another one where the thumbs are Mr. Smith and Mr. Brown. It is actually kind of long but cute and similar to yours.
ReplyDeletewe do a similar one as well. tummy thumb, tommy thumb where are you? Here I am, here I am, how do you do? Same all through for peter pointer, middle man, ruby ring, baby small, and then fingers all. my little guy loves it! :)
