Bottle Top Sentences

I've been collecting bottle tops (and bribing my friends to do the same) for months now.
This week will be all about activities that you can do with tops!

Bottle Top Sentences

B has been really interested in reading lately so together we made up a few sentences (using words that he knows or can sound out) and drew a picture next to them. I wrote the words on water bottle tops, B matches them on the sentence strips, and we read the sentence together.

  4. these happen to be water bottle lides (my friend saved for me), but 2 liter bottle tops would work too. I think white is the easiest color to work with so you can write right on it. Later in the week I use different colors and cover them and that is a lot of work for as many as you need for this activity.

  5. I have been collecting them for a while too. My kids love to learn with bottle caps. I just put number stickers on some and we are doing math equations. For some reason, I never thought to write words on them though! I'll be doing this over the next week.

  15. Which means I can continue collecting them. They can be put to good use! We still have ways to go to reach this level, though.

  16. This is a great idea. I have saved bottle lids for awhile...different colors. Might be great to use different colors to represent the different parts of speech (nouns -red/verbs - green, etc.)for older children! Thannk you!
