Sunday Spending

I know it often looks like I only make toys and activities out of things from around the house and I often do, but I also like to find great deals. Here are a few things that I bought today at Target in the dollar spot that I wanted to tell you about.

Pocket Chart $1
We use this when we are matching things or putting things in order. We don't NEED it, but it makes someo f our activities more fun.

Book $1
They also had Cars, Superheroes, and nonfiction choices.

Activity Books $1
These are great for times that we are waiting somewhere. I thought this maze one looked fun.

Foam Counting Blocks $1 each
I got squares and triangles. We'll use these for sorting, counting, and creating.

Double sided dry erase board $2 Dry erase markers $2
I probably didn't need this but I couldn't resist.

Chef Hat $1
B will use it for pretend play. They had several other types of hats too.

  1. So many great things!!! I wish that my target had that pocket chart and counting blocks in the dollar spot! I was just there yesterday...however, they did have a lot of their summer "toys" on clearance so I picked up a bunch of items for my sensory bin for 68 cents a piece. Have a great weekend!

  3. You scored some good stuff! I love the target dollar bins too and always have to check them out when I go there. I got two of those pocket charts a couple weeks ago and have gotten those little coloring/activity books (my daughter LOVES those), but I haven't seen the foam shapes or dry erase boards. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

  8. Love me some target! I thought of you on Saturday when I saw those counting blocks so that is so funny thay you bought them! We found some great flash cards in the dollar spot and at dollar tree. I've stared putting out three cards and asking "where's the car?"etc. I can tell he likes playing although he only has the attention span for 2 or 3 cards, which I would think is normal for a 11 month old boy!

  10. I love this time of year at Target when they pull out all of their "teacher stuff". I can hardly rip myself away from the $1 section. We got the chef hat too and a few more "dress ups" like firefighter and police. I'm going to save them for Christmas and make the boys a dress up corner! I think they'll be more ready for pretend play then. We also got the counting blocks AND the dry erase board!
