Paper bags have been a quick and easy sorting tool for us lately. Sorting vowels and consonants (left) or words that start with sh or ch (right).
Other Ideas for Paper Bag Sorting:
Write numbers 1-5 on bags and have your child put the corresponding amount of an object in each bag.
Write your family member's names on several cards and on bags. Have your child sort the names.
Colors
Syllables
Living/Nonliving
Farm Animals/Zoo Animals

Great idea. Logan always needs something concrete to sort into. Just making piles on the table doesn't work. I'll try the bags.
ReplyDeleteFun ideas! We did a paper bag sorting activity this week. We did "Trash," "Recycle," and "Yard waste." We colored the bags with marker to be the same color as our bins outside, and I gave him a little box with snippets of paper, a rubber band, cotton ball, and old leaves, and asked him to sort them into the right bag. He needed a little help with it, but he finished it all. :)
