We are covered in magnets over here! It started with Toy Story Magnets. Then, B started asking to turn other characters into magnets and before you know it, we have reached our magnet limit.
Anything can be made into a magnet. Use magnetic tape with the sticky back on characters from cereal or granola bar boxes, things printed on cardstock, or small, lightweight toys.
Although I complain about having these all over the house, I will say that they have provided hours of pretend play and fun for such an inexpensive price.
We have so many of these. Wonderful aren't they? I use google images to character hunt as well. We got a whole set of Curious George that way.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using the fire place. b/c of kids we never use ours. (feels like such a waste. Now I know what we will use it for!
ReplyDeleteMy kiddos tend to sit on the kitchen floor while having breakfast so that they can play with their magnets on the refrigerator and dishwasher. We also have a magnetic schedule that includes all of our daily activities, from meals, to brushing teeth, and school work. They really enjoy finding out what we are doing each day so they can change the magnets if we have errands to run or a special family night activity!
ReplyDeleteOoo! Send some of those our way -- we can never seem to find a magnet when we need one in this house. :-) Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteWe love the ones that came with the Toy Story set. Even my youngest who is 19 months loves putting them on and taking them off. He loves animals, I should make him some!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, I can't wait to make some!
ReplyDeleteFun! My kids peel the magnets apart. So far few of them have lived for long - boo!
ReplyDeleteoo very fun! Sammy would love to play with all of those magnets! I have kept some of the magnets from pizza places or things I get in the mail. Then hot clue them on to cut outs and make them magnets!
ReplyDeleteLindsay- What a great way to recycle. I am thinking I could put apart my old magnets and used then hot glue on to laminated pictures! Thanks so much!
