We started having "Wacky Wednesday" at our house. This idea has provided us with a lot of fun and laughter. On Wednesday, each person does something wacky for the rest of the family to find. A few things we've tried so far are putting the chair on the table (shown above), taking a picture off of the wall and setting it somewhere else, and turning the ottoman upside down.
The first week, B actually cried because he didn't want things to be out of order and the second week he was so into it I had to make a rule that each person could do only one thing for the others to find. I like how this has turned into a real life version of a "What's Different?" activity. It's an easy way to have a quick laugh at the beginning of the day. I can envision this getting out of control and turning into a practical joke session so I'm trying to stay away from that and just do something simple like move things around in the house.
This idea was inspired by the book Wacky Wednesday by Dr. Seuss. I'd like to say that I thought of this idea before we read the book, but I'm sure I didn't. Either way, by reading the book first, B has something to make a connection to.
This looks like fun! Bet JDaniel would love to surprise us at our house.

ReplyDeleteOh what a great idea!! thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea! But yes I can see this getting out of control and resulting in lots of random items that have to be put back in place. Probably a good idea to limit it to just one thing!
ReplyDeleteI love doing something different to break the routine that we sometimes too quickly get in to. This looks like fun.
