For Maddie, she loved anything hands-on. I would write her name on a sentence strip and give her a cookie sheet filled with salt. She'd use the sentence strip to look at the letters and then attempt to write them in the sand. Or, I'd write each letter of her name on a piece of computer paper and put each letter in a plastic page protector. We'd get out the Play-Doh and make snakes that we would then lay on top of the letters. Super tactile and even fun to mix the letters up and put them in order again!
I love this idea!!I like having the letters and maybe even letting my daughter help decorate/color/put stickers around the letters of her name to be involved in the making of the activity as well. Such a great idea!
Very easy ideas to use with my daughter (3&1/2 years old). My daughter is a bit older so we are moving into writing her name. We like to use Play-Doh to make the letters of her name.
I like this idea. I can't really remember what we did to have our daughter learn her name, but now I need ideas for her write her name. Maybe I could do the same thing..have her look at her name spelled out above and then trace the letters? Any ideas?
I really like the bottle-top matching idea. :)
