Painting is one of my kids' favorite past times! Drawing comes in at a close second. Even L (age 2) has been drawing a lot lately-little squiggles that he imagines to be the big bad wolf or a picture of his Daddy. This week I combined two of his favorites. After painting with his brush and hands, I taught L how to draw with the back of his paintbrush.
This activity is great for fine motor development, as well as creative thinking. You can also use a coffee stirrer or Popsicle stick.

I love the idea of using both ends of the brush!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I have never thought of using the other end of the brush before... I usually use another tool to get the same effect on my own paintings, but the less amoutn of tools to clean the better :)
