Keeping my 2 year old busy this summer has been a fun challenge! Here are six quick activities that he and I both love!
Flip over stacking cups (we like THESE) and have your tot push a pompom through the correct color. I promise it'll be exciting as he "finds" the hidden pompom and it's really taught G his colors!
Masking tape collages are super fun. If it's too hard to tear, you can tear and he can place them on the paper. He is always very proud of his creations!
The next time you're at the craft store, pick up a couple of birdhouses. In my area, they're only $1 a piece and SO much fun. My 6 year old did the one on the left and the two year old did the one on the right. We like to use THIS paint for easy clean up.
This one is a fun, COOL activity! Freeze some heavy duty magnets in an ice cube tray. Pop them out and give your tot a magnet wand to explore! It's even fun as it melts!
We LOVE our chalkboard-painted table top. After we doodle with chalk, I give G a paintbrush and some water. He can "magically" erase the drawings!
See if you have a Lakeshore Learning store nearby! EVERY Saturday, they have FREE crafts for kids and they are SO fun! G looks forward to it all week!

I LOVE the pom pom activity idea at the very beginning of this post! I am so doing that with my Sunshine this next week. Of course I love all of them, but that's my favorite (most likely because I have everything already on hand). Thank you so much for sharing some fabulous ideas!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found one to try! Let us know how it goes. =)
DeleteThanks for the tip on Lakeshore Learning! I've been going to our local library for free activities but I'm going to try this too.
