Organization

I know I've said it before, but I LOVE organizing... and an organized home.  It's never been quite AS important as it is now, either.  With a 6 year old, 2 year old, and 6 month old, life can get crazy and hectic.  But, with an organized home that is CHILD friendly, they can pitch in on the clean up efforts!  Here's how we manage it around here.

organization

I made chalkboard tags for FREE!  I picked up some free laminate samples from Home Depot, took them home, and gave them a couple good coats of chalkboard spray paint.  Once they were dry, I labeled them with white chalk and tied them on my Ikea baskets.  Easy peasy and now the kids KNOW where to stash their stuff!

organization

We do a LOT of reading in this house, which means that books are ALWAYS piling up.  A quick way to make cleaning FUN is to organize your book spines by color!  It's a great learning tool for the two year old and makes it fun for the 6 year old.  Plus... It's pretty!

organization

Never lose a bib again!  I popped a Command hook on the back of his highchair and hang his bibs on it.  Now we never sit down for a meal without being totally ready.

organization

Kitchen wares don't ONLY have to be found in the kitchen!  I hung this utensil rack (from Ikea) on a metal rod (also Ikea) next to my 6 year old's bed and voila!  An instant, easy-to-access bookcase that holds the books that she reads at night.
