Materials: Playdoh, spaghetti noodle, other noodles or cheerios for lacing
Stick a spaghetti noodle upright in a chunk of playdoh and use it to string other noodles or cheerios. B had a lot of fun with this and it is great for motor skill development. As you can see we got carried away and made a lot of these (below). We also used this for working with patterns.
I'm going to do it as soon as they wake up! I love it! P.S. The light is working better and better everyday! I heard Caden say on the monitor "No Drakey, it's still ni ni time" and Drakey said, "OK". Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! It would also teach about using "careful" hands so that you do not break the noddles. D can use some practice on that!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! Emily loves working with patterns, so I think she would really enjoy this.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of using this for working with patterns - fantastic idea and one that I am keen to try. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCool idea!
ReplyDeleteThat's an AWESOME idea! I'm sharing this post on my FB page :P
ReplyDeleteWe definitely need to try this. I've tried stringing activities, but have never really succeeded - I think the raw spaghetti (and the PlayDoh!) might do the trick!
Jamie @ hands on : as we grow
Love this idea and all the possibilities to adapt to meet the different needs, skill levels and interests of my children - patterns, counting, color sorting, tallest, ......
ReplyDeleteLove this!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! I am completely copying!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. I think in our house there might be quite a lot of broken spaghetti sticks but i'm going to give this a go anyway.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so fun for a toddler. I've got to pin it so I remember to do it! Also shared it on my FB page. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDoing it now. Love this idea.
