5 Little Pumpkins - Felt Board Activity

Five Little Pumpkins

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "Oh, my it's getting late!"
The second one said, "There are witches in the air."
The third one said, "But we don't care."
The fourth one said, "Let's run, let's run!"
The fifth one said, "Isn't Halloween fun?"
Then Woooo went the wind
And OUT went the lights.
And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

We LOVE this poem! We use our felt board to act it out and B breaks out into song whenever we see a pumpkin (which is a lot lately)!

Don't have a felt board but still want to enjoy the poem?
*Print it out on cardstock and attach magnets to the back of each piece and use them on your fridge.
*Put tape on the back of the pieces and use them onthe front of a cupboard to tell the story.
*Let your child use them to tell the story on the floor.

Want to make a quick and easy felt board?
This is what I did....
Buy a foam project board from Michaels or the grocery store.
Use spray glue to cover the board with felt (bought by the yard at Michaels or Hobby Lobby).
Secure the ends of the fabric on the back with more spray glue or a hot glue gun.
Print out characters, letters, or objects on cardstock. Glue felt or sandpaper (I've found felt works better) to the back of each piece.
If you are really crafty, create your characters from felt!
You are ready to go!

  3. This is very cute! We have a felt board but I often forget to use it, so this is a great reminder and a cute way to use it for fall!
