I tried this Number Race with B a few days ago and we've been playing it ever since.
How to Play:
*Roll one die.
*Put a sticker next to the number rolled (or stamp it, color it in, or x it out)
*The first number to have all of its shapes filled, wins the number race!
Instead of drawing this game board over and over again, I created one on the computer so I could just print it out whenever we wanted to play.

Great game! I've used a similar technique teaching higher-level math. Using 2 die (dice?) you can make it an adding or multiplying game by coloring in what the two die (dice?) equal. Add another and you can work on order of operations! :)
ReplyDeleteTo save you on paper, you could always put the printout in a sheet protector, and he could color with a dry erase marker. Just a thought.
How fun and simple! We'll have to try this.
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE this!!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I think my boys would love playing this!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog. Love it. I enjoy staying home with my daughter also. May I ask how old your son is? This way I can kind of gage what activities are appropriate for us and even look back through some of your older posts. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this! We are off on a plane trip tomorrow, and I think this will bethe perfect game to entertain miss nearly 4 and master jsut turned 2 :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great idea! We used two dice to practice addition (as suggested by Amanda above) and this was a definite hit at our house. See my post at http://agilehomeschooling.blogspot.com/2010/01/number-chase.html
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect. My post today is about some oversized dice we bought at Dollar Tree yesterday. I'm going to edit my post and link this.
