Put pillows or a bean bag on the floor to play Climb the Mountain. This helps build strength and coordination. N actually liked to crawl on the pillows more when they were in a line, flat on the floor like a path.
I remember trying this when B was younger. He went up and over stacks of pillows like they were barely in his way. N had a couple other things she liked to do with them instead.
She liked to unstack them, move them around, and play peekaboo.
She also liked to use them for a little relaxing!
What does your baby do when you give him/her a chance to climb the mountain?
What a great way to work on a great nap!
ReplyDeleteFun! We did this the other day with couch cushions. Both girls loved it, but my 10 month old is in the "I want to push everything so I can practice walking" stage. So when she wasn't climbing, she was pushing them across our (hardwood) floor. She does it with pillows too.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! My girls would love this and I like Jodie's idea of couch cushions. We have been stuck inside for some many days now because of freezing temps that this will be a great way to get my little ones some exercise.
ReplyDeleteCute! I bet that burns a lot of baby energy too. :)
ReplyDeleteMy little girl likes for Mama or Daddy to lay in the floor and let her crawl up and over us!
ReplyDeleteCute! I tried this with a variety of heavy and light/soft cushions. My girl likes feeling the different textures.
ReplyDeleteI did this with couch cushions as well the other day (made me realize how much I needed to clean out under the cushions!). My two year old had a great time playing "Queen of the Pillows" which I kept yelling out as we were climbing. Very fun!
