Awhile ago I did a review and giveaway for Montessori at Home by John Bowman. This download/CD is a great resources and goes in depth as to why the activities are beneficial for preschoolers.
We tried this activity recently that is featured in Montessori at Home. B put 10 beads on 10 different pipe cleaners. We used them to count by 10s (thanks to a song on Adventures to the Moon, Leapfrog dvd) and to see what 100 looks like all while developing fine motor skills. Montessori at Home is a GREAT book. I sat down last night at a coffee shop and read the first 30 pages straight, getting more and more excited! Thank you for sharing it with us.
