Heart Hunt - Cut out a bunch of hearts, hide them around the house, and find them. I added a twist to this one and wrote names of our family and friends on the hearts. As B found them we read the names of people that love him. I wrote each name on two different hearts so we could match them after we found them all. The idea for a heart hunt came from Little Family Fun (an awesome blog).
Heart Numbers - Write numbers on one side of the hearts and letters for your child's name on the other. Have your child put the heart numbers in order. If they did it correctly, when they flip them over they will see their name. B really liked this activity and I liked how quick it was to put together. I read about this on The Shafer Family Blog (one of my favs).
Heart Scissors Practice - B thought it was pretty cool that he could cut on the line and unfold a heart (well it kind of looked like a heart when we were done with it)! If your children are older, have them cut out all of the hearts for the above activities.
**An extra bonus.....This heart scavenger hunt from Serving Pink Lemonade is ADORABLE and something I will try with B next year for sure! I think older children will have a great time with the clues and can even try to create their own for you when they are done.
I was thinking of doing a red dot hunt next week with JDaniel. I love using the letters on them.

Awesome heart ideas. Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! We have tons of hearts cut out from various activities that we have done this week. I think that the heart scavenger hunt will be a perfect way to use them one more time. Hope you are feeling well! I know that having a toddler and a baby at the same time can be exhausting. Hopefully they will let you get a LITTLE sleep. :)
ReplyDeleteHow is it that I wasn't a follower before this?? Silly me!
