Has your child ever loudly asked, "Is that a boy?" when it is clearly a woman? It has happened to me! That's why I made this quick sorting activity.
I put a few characters in there like Oscar the Grouch that we've never classified as a boy or girl before to see what he would do. I also like to ask, "How do you know?" while he is sorting. The response usually makes me laugh.
Here is the Boy/Girl Sorting Printable if you'd like to try it at your house.
Why we can't eat pizza at 7:00 am has been a source of conflict around here lately. I quickly threw together this page of clip art so that we could talk about it in a different way. I can't say that it solved our problem, but it was fun. Now I should probably add snacks/meals to the sort too.
Here is the Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner sorting printable.
There are endless possibilities in the world of sorting. We also tried this animals that live on land/animals that live in water sort.
Here is the Animals on Land/Water printable that I used. I found this idea at Little Learners Lounge.
(I threw these together really quickly in the moment using clip art from clker.com. So print, cut out, and try to overlook the way everything is lined up on the page.)
Happy Sorting!

ReplyDeleteWhen my kids were still at home. I had 4. they ate Pizza, Spagetti, for breakfast. They didn't like cereal so they usually ate the leftovers from supper the night before. This is when they got to be about 9 years old. Or they would boil their pasta and put good ole spagetti sauce on top with cheese.. At first I said "no way".. and then I conceded,,they were eating something before school. Actually Pizza tastes pretty good in the morning. Have a great day...
ReplyDeleteIn his defense, it's REALLY hard to tell these days boy or girl!! Thanks for the printables.
