July Busy Boxes

With the weather being so gorgeous out, we haven't been doing AS many busy boxes as usual.  But, here's what we have set up for this month!

I popped a package of sparkly glitter glue (Dollar Tree) and rolled up some paper to stick in a box.  He LOVED squeezing the glue and it was relatively mess-free.  Even M had to get in on the action (especially now that she's home for summer!).

Another fun art box was when I put a box of watercolor crayons and paper out for him.  These are SO fun and I highly recommend for tots!  Basically, you dip the crayon in water and then draw.  The colors are so vibrant and bleed just enough to be super exciting to watch!  We buy ours at Michaels but they're also available HERE.

This is one of his faves but definitely requires an extra dose of supervision.  I put in a jar of pony beads (from Hobby Lobby) and some pipe cleaners (shorter ones are easier to manage for little hands).  It is SUCH great fine motor work to string those little beads!

I purchased this Melissa and Doug book at Target and it is SO awesome!  Seriously, he plays with this every single day.  You just add water to the pen and you're good to go!  Plus, the pages eventually fade so you can "paint" over and over again!

G is pretty proficient at using tongs so now I've added in tweezers, chopsticks, and a long handled spoon.  Pompoms are easy to grab and transfer and I use a paint tray to teach one-to-one correspondence!
