Travel Play Set

travel activity

I fell in love with the Travel Tin Dollhouses from HomeSpun-Threads (Hers are so cute!) and it inspired me to make a simple travel tin for N's Pet Shop animals.

We had so much fun making it together and she has been playing with it non stop at home and bringing it with her to restaurants and appointments.

  • Use a mint tin (shown above).
  • Cover it and/or line it with cute scrapbook papers and ribbon (optional).
  • Gather small items to use in your tin.

We used foam blocks for the kitchen appliances. A bottle top for the food bowl and small foam blocks for the dog food. N found a scrap of fabric for his dog bed. We drew different things on the opposite sides of the foam blocks so she could rotate them to make a different room.

The Pet Shop animals are magnetic which is a bonus with the metal mint tin, but you can use any little characters that you have on hand with your travel play set.

Everything fits right inside of the tin (except the animal we chose) to close up and carry with you wherever you go!

    1. I poured all of the mints in a bowl so I could make them right away. =) Also, make sure to check out the Dice Game and Lego Travel Set made from the same mint tins.
